Songs of Resignation Too

Anthony Childs A perfect example (and not his first) of how imperfect can sound exquisite, how resignation can sound hopeful. Most fans of Durutti Column's/Vini Reilly's guitar playing should support this (and at the very least listen to it), but everyone who enjoys being in a room with one or two people playing unamplified instruments should also be in for this (and its prior companion). If you're listening to this to relax, be forewarned re: "Fretwank mixed".

Andy Not a 'proper' album. Only 'sketches' & 'frozen moments' of inspiration ! But even Matt's sketches and clumsy moments end up filling my room with warmth ! Favorite track: Fretwank mixed.

about

It’s been almost two years to the day since I released an album and because of problems with vinyl production worldwide the next album won’t be released until at least next Spring and well...with the way things are going, I’m not even sure there’s going to be a next Spring... So, in the meantime, I thought I’d release another compilation of sketches, demos etc for anyone who wants it: ‘Songs of Resignation Too’

Like the last compilation, this is not a ‘proper’ Matt Elliott album, there’s no amazing David Chalmin super production, hi dollar microphones or any thing like that. It’s a compilation of sketches and ideas, frozen moments of inspiration, ideas that never went beyond what they ended up here as, spontaneous moments, with all the clumsiness left in, badly recorded and then forgotten about.
